We've been so curious about shibori indigo dyeing-

We've been so curious about shibori indigo dyeing- we'd hoped to do it in the studio with you, but we'll just call this a test-run, ok? 😜 We dyed A LOT of stuff, basically just grabbing every thing that was white or needed new life. Here are: a baby blanket, towels (2 sizes), 2 of 4 shirts, and an apron. We also did a queen size duvet!! 🎉🥳
This is a pretty involved process but it was so FUN. When you finally get to unwrap everything, each one is such a mystery of how it will turn out... and then SURPRISE!!! We ooooh'd and ahhh'd over each design❤️. So magical!!

We love the days around the new year for organizing and refreshing everything, including our supplies. Markers are EASILY the most used art supply around here- the kids don't seem to mind when they start to get dull and dried out but bright markers are so much better!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This time last year we were getting ready to celebrate here with all our favorite people and this year we're taking beautiful art off the walls😭. But we can hold both our sadness at what we've lost *and* our curiosity about what comes next! What does this (sad) change make possible? What might we do, make, or become with the space we now have available? 2021 brings the opportunity of reinvention and much, much more curiosity! We are here for the ride and can't wait to gather to celebrate with you all again soon!! 😘🥰😘😘

As we move toward the winter solstice tomorrow and Christmas this week, now is a great time to find a little time to slow down and just BE. Yes, Christmas is typically kinda frenzied, and while this year certainly seems a little quieter and slower, if you feeling the burn-out of 2020, the dark days, and/or the holiday season--making with our hands is a great way to take a deep breath. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This morning we broke out the mod podge and magazines. It feels so good to make with no purpose at all. Maybe put on a Christmas movie, set out some supplies, and see what happens. And we don't just mean for the kids, this is for YOU!
